The article Five Things You Notice When You Quit the News by David Cain convinced me to avoid following the news everyday, focusing my attention to long form articles and essays once a week or so.

I woke up without checking the newspapers, and got to know about the invasion on a Slack group. We hear about major events anyway, and there are plenty of ways to get better information about the world.
